If you ever visit South or Central America, you will see panga fishing boats all over the area. Why is this? Well, this type and style of marine watercraft allows for a sturdy, seaworthy and economical vessel. You will notice that fishermen will be fishing from these vessel types in very calm and somewhat rough conditions. You may even notice out in the oceans along side much larger fishing craft.

& sell various models of commercial quality boats
from 14 feet to 32 feet in length. See the manufacturers' specifications when comparing and testing. In addition, check for the adherence to Coast Guard
guidelines, NMMA certification standards and ensure the hulls carry a
comprehensive warranty. Don't be fooled or confused
by other so-called "Panga" available at a

Panga type skiffs - especially the 20ft standard. It
is 7ft at the gunnels and 5ft at the chines. I run my
standard in Mexico and it is mistaken for a "panga"
all the time.

I have been on a 56 ft.
Bertram hooked up with a monster sized Blue Marlin off
the coast of Isla Mujeres (MX) and I have witnessed
a sun-block drenched tourist battle a 400 pound fish
right along side us. We were all shocked at the realization
that he was aboard what has become known as a Pangaboat.
